Wednesday, November 18, 2009
I am the Tulsa/Bartlesville Area Coordinator for this years National Model Search by Sandy Puc and NILMDTS. Below is the flyer that I will be sending out to camera stores, and any photographer interested. If you would like a flyer and be part of the model search to earn a chance to win some great prize and also the family that is chosen wins a BRAND NEW CAR!! This is a great way to not only help promote your business but it is also a wonderful way to spread the word about a really amazing charity.
Those who are interested for a flyer please email me at sadonna@sadonnalynnphotography with the subject titled NILMDTS FLYER and put your name and address in the box and I will mail that out as soon as I can. This is not just for photographers in my area. I can send it to any one in the United States.
2ND ANNUAL CHARITY MODEL SEARCH BEGINS IN JANUARY 2010
Registration has begun for the 2010 International Charity Model Search to select North America's Cutest Family and to raise funds for the non-profit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation ( NILMDTS.org). Last year's competition featured 2,000 model's images and raised $164,775 for the NILMDTS organization.
Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization committed to assisting parents and families going through the difficult time when they experience an early infant loss. NILMDTS connects families with volunteer photographers and provides them with a reproducible CD of the images of their baby at no cost to the family. For further information on NILMDTS, visit their website at www.nowilaymedowntosleep.org.
Participating photographers submit portraits for local families for online voting and finalists are determined by online votes. Each vote cost $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep NILMDTS.org.
The grand prize international winner will be determined from the 52 city finalist. Many exciting prizes will be awarded, and the grand prize winner receives a new car. The winners will be selected from the finalist gallery by photography and modeling industry experts. The winning family also receives a session with the renowned portrait artist Sandy Puc' and international recognition.
Sandy Puc', Model Search sponsor, has long believed charitable work is the backbone of the community. She created this contest to highlight excellence in the portrait photography industry as well as raise funds for NILMDTS, the organization she co-founded in 2005.

Our family reunion was Labor Day weekend here are some pictures I took on my last day there. These were taken right behind my grandmas apartment. She lives in a retirement home and we came in the back way instead of parking in the front and walking through the center to get to her little apartment. When we pulled up my mind started rolling. Actually I did not go in and say hello for the first 20 minutes we were there and ended up going back out for a few more minutes before I sat down and had a talk with everybody. Here is what I captured...

1963 Impala
Monday, August 17, 2009

There is a show on CBS called Gary Unmarried. If you haven't seen it is funny and this year it will be it second session. In Garys house above the mantel he has a picture of a red 1950 car. The photographer only captured the head lights and the side of the car. Ever since I saw that picture I have wanted to try to see if I could replicate it. I am not much of a car person could not even tell you how to change a tire.
Yesterday I was sitting in my room watching some videos on another photographers blog and he kept posting photo challenges, 15 minutes photo sessions with one lens. He was using the 50mm f/1.8. Getting inspired as I was watching video after video decided to get out of the house for a few. I knew a few places that were some good spots and have never had the time to really get out and see if I could get creative. While I was driving where I wanted to go I saw this 1960s Impala sitting all abandoned, rusted and calling for me. So I set out with my camera and my 50mm f/1.8 and went to see what I could capture. Here are a few images. More are posted on my facebook, myspace, and flicker. I will post the whole series on my site soon.
