There is a show on CBS called Gary Unmarried. If you haven't seen it is funny and this year it will be it second session. In Garys house above the mantel he has a picture of a red 1950 car. The photographer only captured the head lights and the side of the car. Ever since I saw that picture I have wanted to try to see if I could replicate it. I am not much of a car person could not even tell you how to change a tire.
Yesterday I was sitting in my room watching some videos on another photographers blog and he kept posting photo challenges, 15 minutes photo sessions with one lens. He was using the 50mm f/1.8. Getting inspired as I was watching video after video decided to get out of the house for a few. I knew a few places that were some good spots and have never had the time to really get out and see if I could get creative. While I was driving where I wanted to go I saw this 1960s Impala sitting all abandoned, rusted and calling for me. So I set out with my camera and my 50mm f/1.8 and went to see what I could capture. Here are a few images. More are posted on my facebook, myspace, and flicker. I will post the whole series on my site soon.
